Grant Will Help Purchase New Cancer Treatment Chairs in Door County

HSHS St. Vincent Hospital Cancer Centers at Door County Cancer Center is pleased to announce a $3,800 grant from the Door County Community Foundation to help purchase state-of-the-art recliners that will enhance the comfort of patients receiving cancer treatment.
The recliners are specifically designed to meet the unique needs of cancer patients and feature various positions, footrests, armrests and designated space for patients’ personal items such as beverages, books, computers, phones and magazines.
“Cancer treatment can be physically and emotionally draining,” said Sally Luehring, Executive Director of HSHS St. Vincent Hospital Cancer Centers. “These chairs will provide some needed comfort and help us continue to offer the high-quality, compassionate care we are known for. We extend our sincere gratitude to the Door County Community Foundation for their generous gift and for their work in serving the Door County community as a whole.”
Approximately 200 patients receive outpatient chemotherapy and medication treatment each year at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital Cancer Centers at Door County Cancer Center in Sturgeon Bay.
