Door County Medical Center Offers Workshops on Menopause and Health

Sturgeon Bay, WI - Door County Medical Center will offer four workshops on the topic of menopause, starting with “Menopause Mania” on Wednesday, November 2, presented by Charles Shutt, MD Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Shutt will share information on menopause, a natural occurrence in women’s lives that is the subject of much misinformation abetted by a cultural bias towards youth and against aging.
“Contrary to being a syndrome or disease, menopause is a natural and inevitable part of the progression of every woman’s life, and is to be celebrated and respected,” says Dr. Shutt. The presentation will focus on the nature of menopausal changes, and how to prepare, cope, and thrive with these changes. A question and answer period will follow.
Additional programs include Mindful Eating with Carmen Schroeder, RDN, on November 9; Craniosacral Therapy with Chona Antonio, MD, Teri Casagranda, PT, DPT, CHT, and Monica Guilette, LMT; and Behavioral Health and Menopause with Barb Johnson-Giese, MSW.
All programs are free and take place at Door County Medical Center’s Women’s and Children’s Center in Sturgeon Bay from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Registration is required, please call 920.493.5979.
