1st Monday of each Month, 2:00-3:30, RSVP encouraged
A memory café provides opportunity for individuals with memory loss, their friends, caregivers, and family, to interact socially without fear of embarrassment over memory blunders. The Door County Memory Café strives to promote engagement, whether through enjoyable conversation or through educational themes.
Anyone who is experiencing mild to moderate level of memory loss is encouraged to attend with family, friend, or care partner. Much like your neighborhood café, it’s not a place for supervision or respite. It’s a place to laugh, learn, and love that old feeling of normalcy.
Mingling among café clientele are dementia-trained professionals and volunteers, to support conversations and attend to any specific questions. Coffee and Cravings are free, we only ask for an RSVP so we have enough on hand!
The Memory Café Meets the 1st Monday of each Month, 2:00-3:30, at United Methodist Church in Sturgeon Bay. United Methodist Church is located at 836 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay. Cafés open informally, followed by a topic shared by a local expert. Some past and upcoming café offerings include:
Art for Health
Mardi Gras Celebration
What is a Dulcimer?
Cherry Pie 4th of July!
